Minesweeper
Play the classic Minesweeper online for free. Clear the board without detonating a mine — beginner to expert difficulty.
The board hides a number of mines. Your goal is to reveal every safe cell without clicking on a mine.
Each revealed number tells you how many mines are hidden in the eight surrounding cells.
Use the numbers to deduce where mines must be, and flag those cells so you don't click them by accident.
Your first click is always safe — it will never hit a mine.
You win when every cell that doesn't contain a mine has been revealed.
- Left-click (or tap) a cell to reveal it.
- Right-click (or long-press on touch devices) to place or remove a flag.
- On mobile you can also use the tap-mode toggle to switch between revealing and flagging.
- Click a revealed number that already has the right amount of flags around it to reveal the remaining neighbors (chording).
- Start with corners and edges of revealed areas — they give the strongest clues.
- A '1' touching exactly one unrevealed cell means that cell is definitely a mine.
- Use chording on satisfied numbers to open large areas quickly and improve your time.
- If you're forced to guess, prefer cells that touch the fewest numbered cells.
